The application building process

You use Application Composer to integrate application components and to create the business application. This section describes the application building process.

Before you can build an application, ensure that:

• You have the application key file prepared to import.
  Note:  The application key certifies the content of a sealed application. You must import a correct application key to create or edit a sealed application.
• You have the application components that you want to include in the application. Use individual products to create application components.

To build an application from application components, the Application Composer:

1. Gathers information about the application.

   See Specifying the application description.

2. Uploads application components that you want to include in the application.

   See Adding application components.

3. Uses an application key to identify the content creator.

   See Importing an application key.

4. Encrypts the data to seal it, based on the application key information provided.
5. Assembles application components and creates the application (* .bi_application file).
