Application components

This table shows various types of application components, the corresponding file extensions, and additional information.

Note: After you upload the required application components, Application Composer creates the application ( .bi_application file).


Content type	File extension	Description
Repository	.app_project	The Repository application component contains project data and application roles. Note: The Repository application component must contain only one dashboard catalog.
Application Studio Reports	.app_reports	Application Studio Reports application component contains reports that you want to include in the application. The reports represent the business logic that was implemented by content developers. You can deploy a business application that contains Application Studio Reports application component to apply this business logic to your data.
Dashboards	.app_dashboards	You use Dashboards application component, which contains dashboards and dashboard catalog settings, to view the application content in Infor BI platform.
OLAP Data	.app_olap	OLAP data application component is an optional component. The business application can use various data sources, which includes OLAP data, Business Vault data, Analysis Services, other data from relational databases. You can upload an OLAP data application component that is deployed with the business application. The OLAP database contains both data and data structure. The analytical model contains data structure and rules that define how hierarchies are built from customer data and how the data is loaded into cubes.
DataLink	.app_datalink	The DataLink Service component contains the DataLinks definitions.
Application Processes	.app_processes	Application Engine processes are business-related processes that are created in Application Engine Process Editor. These processes can be integrated in Infor BI products. The Application Studio Reports, for example, can execute Application Engine processes. Note: Ensure that you add all Application Engine processes that are required by the application. Verify that the version of the processes included in your application component is correct.
