What can you do with the Item Master?
This information is used across all of the Order Fulfilment functions.
It is also possible to use it to:
- Check whether an item is an inventory, service or charge type.
 - Ensure inventory is held in whole units.
 - Set a maximum allowable inventory quantity.
 - Set a safety inventory quantity.
 - Check whether or not the item is saleable.
 - Ensure the item is always sold in whole units.
 - Set a minimum sales order quantity.
 - Control the number of times in a calendar year an item is checked in the inventory count.
 - Control the allocation method - for example, FIFO, LIFO, expiry date, manual or balance.
 - Control the allocation horizon.
 - Enter various references including the European commodity code or EAN number, bar code and NATO part number.
 - Hold up to four selling prices and their currencies.
 - Hold up to four future prices and the dates for when new prices apply.
 - Control the setting of a default purchase price and its currency.
 - Control what updates the purchase price.
 - Insist on supplier or customer details being held against the item.
 - Set up to ten analysis dimensions.
 - Enter account codes for posting to the ledger.
 - Control whether or not the item is inspected.
 - Control whether or not the item is serialized.
 - Control whether or not the item is traceable.
 - Control whether or not the item is a phantom.
 - Check if the item is still active, or if it has been suspended or closed.
 - Control ordering policy, for example, order only when below minimum stock level, only ever to master schedule or only make to order.
