Bill of Materials status
As with other SunSystems static data records, a Bill of Materials contains a status showing its current processing status. This status affects what can or cannot be carried out with the Bill of Materials. For ease, the icon displayed next to the BOM in the BOM Structure section of the BOM dialog indicates the status and these are also shown below.
Displaying BOMs That Do Not Have an Open Status
Generally, only BOMs with a status of Open are displayed in the Item Selection Result window. To display BOMs with a status of Hidden, Suspended/Held or Closed/Completed, select Include from the menu. When this function is switched on, a tick appears next to the option on the menu. To switch this function off, select Include from the menu again - the tick disappears which indicates it has been switched off.
Status | Button | Description |
---|---|---|
Open | This is the default status and is set automatically when you add a new record. All actions are available to a BOM with this status. | |
Hidden | This status might be used so that the BOM is not available to users and makes all fields inaccessible in the Details section of the BOM dialog. In order to edit a BOM with this status, right click on the BOM in the BOM Structure window and select Unhide. The relevant fields can then be edited. | |
Suspended/Held | This status might be used when a BOM is to be temporarily taken out of use. You can still edit a BOM with this status. | |
Closed/Completed | This status might be used when a BOM is no longer applicable. You cannot edit a BOM with this status, but you can change it to another status in order to be able to edit it. |
You can change the status of a BOM by double-clicking on the status field. A drop-down list of the statuses is displayed. Select the required status.
