About sales kits

Sales kits are a type of BOM which is a set of items sold as a kit.

A sales kit item can be any item type. That is, goods, service, charge, or non-inventory. However, you should consider the following points when creating a sales kit BOM:

• If the parent item in the Item Master has the item type of goods, the sales kit lines (that is, the BOM components) should not be goods items.
• If the parent item in the Item Master has a non-goods item type, the sales kit lines (that is, the BOM components) can be goods items.

If the above rules are not followed, this will lead to double counting of goods in the inventory.
