Maintaining serial numbers

You can change some of the information held about serial numbers by selecting Serial Numbers (SNO) from SunSystems.

  1. Specify this information:
    Item Code
    The required item code. This must be entered.
    Serial Number
    The required serial number. This must be entered.
  2. Once you have completed these two fields, click OK. Any other available information is displayed in the following fields. To amend these details, select Amend from the Action menu. To accept the changes select OK from the Action menu.
    Miscellaneous Date
    Any additional date information.
    Miscellaneous Number 1, 2 and 3
    Any additional numeric information.
    Miscellaneous Text 1 and 2
    Any other additional information.
    Customer Warranty End Date
    The expiry date of the warranty given to the customer for the item.
    Supplier Warranty End Date
    The expiry date of the warranty given by the supplier for the item.
    Status
    Available for Allocation
    If this is checked, the item is available for allocation.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. From the Action menu select Serial Number History to display historical details of the serial number. This includes details about the transactions that used the serial number, such as the sales and movement orders.
