Ledger Entry Asset Details
The SunSystems Fixed Assets module uses Ledger Entry (LEN) to record asset transactions on the ledger; including depreciation, revaluation, acquisition, and disposal transactions.
The asset code and asset subcode identify the asset to be updated by the transaction. You cannot post transactions to an asset with a status of Disposal. You are also warned if you try to post to an asset after the depreciation end period.
The asset indicator determines whether the Ledger Entry transaction amount updates the gross value, initial value or accumulated depreciation value for the asset.
When a ledger transaction updates an asset, it also updates the last depreciated period, if applicable, and the date of the last transaction for the asset.
If you are using asset quantities you can enter a quantity for this asset transaction in the Memo Amount.
You can preset the asset code, subcode or asset indicator using Journal Presets (JNP).
The asset code and subcode govern the analysis codes prompted for. An asset subcode is defined using asset posting presets on Asset Records. Associated analysis codes are placed in the analysis fields. See 'Presetting the Asset Posting Analysis Codes'.
Further information is available in 'Entering Asset Transactions'; see also 'Entering the Journal Details'.
