Communication Wizard

This form allows you to send various types of communications to a sales group or to individual members of a sales group. Sales communications can be saved and viewed on the Sales Contacts form.

You can also send promotional emails to Customer Portal users from this form. If you select this option, certain fields are disabled and some steps in the wizard are skipped.

For sales contact communications, the wizard has four steps:

  • Identify Communication Type and Method: This step defines the type of communication and the group of contacts (or portal users) with whom you will be communicating.
  • View and Select Sales Contacts: In this step, you choose which contacts in the group you will include in the communication. Contacts only display in this step if their interaction permissions allow the selected method of communication.
  • Identify/Create Template: This step is where you define the content of the message. If you are using a Microsoft Word template, select it here. If you are sending an email communication, you can use MailMerge fields to personalize the message. This is the point at which the message is either printed out (for fax or mailing) or emailed (via Outlook or the Application Event System).
  • Log Communication: In this optional step, you log information about this interaction. Log entries are viewable on the Sales Contacts, Campaigns, Customers, and Prospects forms, depending on the group you selected during the Identify Communication Type and Method step.
