Journal Entries
When you run a posting routine in a CloudSuite Business business module, journal entries are created for the affected transactions. Using the Journal Entries form, you can then:
- Review the journal entries.
- Update and delete entries in the General Journal.
- Update and delete entries in user-defined journals.
- Create entries for tax amounts and link them to a tax code.
Except for unit codes, the distribution journals (see the list in About Journal Entries) are read-only. You can only review entries, not add, update or delete them. To make changes to distribution journal entries, you must enter transactions in the originating business module.
The
menu includes the following options:- Sequence Reset: Changes the sequence numbers for the transactions. You must perform this function when adding a new transaction between two consecutive transactions.
- Journal Compress: Compresses journal transactions for each account by date. Compressing a journal reduces the number of transactions in the
journal, making a journal more manageable and easier to view on the form.
Note: If you compress the journal, control numbers will be deleted.
- Post Journal: Posts journal transactions.
