Creating application roles

Typically, each application provides a prebuilt set of application roles. Additionally, you can add new application roles using the predefined dashboards.

  1. Select Dashboards > User and Permission Management > Application Roles.
  2. Click Create in the Application Role widget.
  3. Specify a name and description.
  4. In the Rank box, type or select a user role ranking.
    Because you can assign multiple roles to one user, it can become important to define, which exact role is going to inherit values that equip the user with specific settings. For a user with multiple roles, the settings for an application role with the highest rank are used.
    Note: The smaller the number, the higher the rank. Zero value means that no rank is assigned to an application role.
  5. Click OK.
