Shared images

In the Repository, each project has a Shared Images node. An application such as Application Studio can use shared images that are stored on project level when it accesses a repository database. To administer these project-specific shared images, select Shared Images under the project tree:

  • You can import, export, edit, delete, and replace single shared images.
  • You can export all shared images to a file or import shared images from a file.

In the shared images work space, for each shared image this information is shown: a thumbnail, the unique name of the shared image, the image type, and a description. You can sort the list of shared images by the Unique name column.

To import a shared image, click Add. The dialog Add Image opens, where you select one or multiple files that must be saved in the project. You can add these image file types: bmp, gif, ico, jpg, jpeg, png, and svg.

To edit the unique name or the description of an image, double-click its line in the work space or select its line and click Properties. On the Basic tab of the Properties dialog, the unique name, name, image type, size, file name, description, and thumbnail of the image are displayed. You can change the unique name and the description of the image. If the image is part of an application, the name of the image's application, the version number, the content state, the name of the vendor, and whether the content is protected is shown on the Application tab. If not, the message No part of application is displayed.

To delete shared images from the database, select them from the list and click Delete.

To replace a shared image by another image file, select it in the list and click Replace. The dialog Replace Image opens, where you select the new file. The unique name and the description of the shared image are retained, so the references are still valid and only the image is updated.

To export shared images, select them in the list and click Export. A dialog opens, where you select the storage location for the image files.

Click Show/Hide and use these buttons to filter the shared image list by types. When you click a button, the contents of the selected type are shown; they are hidden, when the button is not selected (toggle buttons):
