Default language

In a Repository project, one language is designated as the default language. You can define, which language is a default one. The default language is used as the fallback language for all text elements in a project. Therefore, all system strings must have a translation in the default language, so that in case of a fallback always a translated string is shown.

You can remove languages from a project, but you cannot remove the default language. A project must have at least one language which is then the default language. When a language is removed, the translated strings in that language are removed as well.

When you add a language in a project, it appears in all corresponding application user interfaces where you can select a language, for example, the content language in Dashboards or the report language in Application Studio.
