Status of the Event Agent

The Status of the Event Agent dialog box allows you to control the Event Agent.

To display the current status of the Event Agent, use the Refresh button in the Status section.

The Operation section provides command buttons to start, to pause and to shut down the Event Agent. Use the Reinitialize button to update the database when you changed settings of the Event Agent (either by utilizing the Administration Console or directly by editing the DB.INI) or when you edited Event Filters.

Note: If there are still non-processed events in the queue when the Event Agent is stopped, these events are filed in the database directory under EventSave.xml. The file is loaded and processed with the next start of the Event Agent.

To start Event Agent at the same time as OLAP Server, select the Simultaneous start of OLAP Server and Event Agent check box.

The Event Trace Mode displays the events of the local server. Click the button Start Trace Mode. The dialog Event Agent Trace Window opens as soon as an event is triggered and shows the parameters of the triggering event and the released event filters.

  • This function can only be run on a local OLAP Server. The dialog appears for each event and must be closed by either clicking OK or Stop Trace Mode.
  • The dialog Event Agent Trace Window is, for technical reasons, only available in English. Changes of the language settings do not take effect.
