Database Connections
The Administration Console presents several possibilities to modify the properties of registered databases. The following shortcut menu commands are available (alternatively you can use the corresponding buttons on the toolbar):

Click this command to open the dialog box where you can change the alias or log on to the database by another user name. | |

This command disconnects the database and removes it from the list. | |
| Click this command, to apply changed database settings at server runtime. The parameters are marked by '*' asterisk in the Database Settings, the Scheduler Settings and the Log Settings. For a detailed list of all parameters refer to the Administrator Manual (in addition to the settings available in the Administration Console there are a couple of settings that can be edited directly in the ALEA.INI and DB.INI). | ||

Use this command to disconnect a database. | |
| Choose this command to stop the database. | ||
| This command allows you to copy the database data to disc or to another directory. To configure the mode of the database backup, for example set a scheduled backup, go to the Scheduler Settings. | ||

| Click this command to reserve access to the server for at most three users. Enter the user name in the Restrict Database Access dialog box. | ||
| In this dialog you specify the connection mode of the Infor BI OLAP Server database to the Repository. When you select the option Changeable, the user of the Infor BI OLAP Server database can use it along with another Repository. That is the default option. To prevent the Infor BI OLAP Server database from being used in conjunction with another Repository, select the Strong option. | ||

| Use this command to open the Edit Event Filter dialog box where you can create and define event filters and event filter cubes (see Editing Event Filters). | ||

The Extended tab provides the possibility to enter and use additional information in XML format with regard to the database (in the section) and with regard to the database connection (in the section). |
