Creating exception ranges

To create an exception range:

  1. Enable the Properties pane.
  2. Click a blank cell in an Ad-hoc report.
  3. In the Properties pane, expand Advanced and click the browse button in the Exception Reporting field.
  4. Click Create Exception.
  5. Select the measure on which to base the exception range.
  6. Select a condition.
    If you select between or not between, the Upper Bound column is enabled.
  7. Select Absolute or Percent as the value type.
  8. Specify the value of the condition in the Lower Bound column.
    If the condition is between or not between, specify the lower of the two values as the Lower Bound and specify the higher of the two values in the Upper Bound column.
  9. Select the foreground color (text color) for highlighted values.
  10. Select the background color of highlighted cells.
    If the condition is between or not between you must specify a gradient color for the text and cell background. Select the start and end foreground colors and start and end background colors.
  11. Click OK.
