Administering permissions and predefined roles, groups and users

Click the User Management Roles tab. At the user management level you administer users, groups, and role permissions. The predefined user management roles, that contain corresponding permissions, are assigned to users. The users belong to user groups.

Permissions

In user management are these permissions:
Permission Description
Administer User Management Assigned to the Administrator user management role. Members of the role can create, edit and delete users, groups and roles; to change the description of the user management, and to edit the validity period of the tickets, to administer the user management rights and security and to export, to import and to copy user management data. This permission is assigned to the Administrator role. See Predefined user management roles.
Edit password This is assigned to the Edit Password user management role. See Predefined user management roles. Bearers can change their password.
Log On As This is assigned to the Log on As User management role. See Predefined user management roles. The bearer can use the account of another user.

Predefined user management roles

In user management are predefined user management roles and user assignments:
Role Description
Administrator Contains the Administer User Management permission. It is assigned to the user Admin. See Permissions above.
Edit Password Contains the Change Password permission. See Permissions. It is assigned to the users Admin and Guest.
Log on As This role contains the Log On As permission. See Permissions.

Predefined users

On the Users and Groups tab of user management there are two predefined users called Admin and Guest.

User Description
Admin The Admin user may administer users and groups in the User Management. Admin has the roles Administrator and Edit Password and is assigned to the Every SSO User group.
Guest Guest has only the Edit Password role. This user belongs to the Every SSO User group.

Predefined basic groups

On the Basic Groups tab of the User Management dialog there are three predefined user groups:
Group Description
Every SSO User This group facilitates the user administration in the repository. All users are assigned to this group. At the project and report catalog level, the View role is assigned to this group.
Report Designer At the project and report catalog level ReportDesignerRole is assigned to the group ReportDesigner.
View Mode At the project and report catalog level, ReportViewerRole is assigned to the View Mode group.
