Formatting the report background

In the Format Background dialog box, you can apply a background color, image, or color and image, to all cells in the spreadsheet.

You can use the Format Cells dialog box to apply a background color to one or more cells, but not to all cells.

See Formatting cells.

You can insert an image into an individual cell, but not to all cells.

See Inserting images.

To format the background of all cells in the spreadsheet with a background color, an image, or both:

  1. Select Format > Background..
The Format Background dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select either the Background Color or Image check box, or both.
  3. If you have selected Background Color, select a color from the list.
  4. If you have selected Image:
    • Select File and browse to an image on the file system.
    • Select Shared Image and select an image which is stored in the Repository.
  5. If you have selected File or Shared Image select one of these options:
    • Vertically: The image is repeated down the left-hand side of the report. Cells to the right of the images are blank, or display a specified background color.
    • Horizontally: The image is repeated across the top of the report. Cells below the images are blank, or display a specified background color.
    • Both: The image is repeated across all cells of the report. If you select this option, there is no purpose in also specifying a background image.
    • No repeat: The image is displayed once. It occupies as many cells as required at the top left of the report. That is, the larger the image, the more cells it occupies.
