Format tab

This topic describes the options of the Format tab for text, graphic, and shape objects, with the exception of line and arrow objects.

Objects are automatically named as the type of object followed by a sequential number. For example, Picture4. Optionally, you can specify a different name to help you to identify the object when you reference it in formulas or actions, for example.

The Sample field displays the effects of your selections in the Fill and Border sections.

Fill

Select one of these options for the background of the object:

  • Solid: Select a background color from the Color list.
  • Gradient: Select a type of gradient from the Gradient list. Select the start color for the gradient from the From list and the end color from the To list.
  • Hatch: Select a type of hatch pattern from the Hatch list. Select the color of the hatch lines from the Hatch color list and the background color from the Background list.
  • Pattern: Select a hatch pattern from the Hatch list. Select the color of the hatching from the Hatch color list and the background color from the Background list.

Border

To display a border around the object, select a border width from the Width list.

To display the object without a border, select None from the Width list.

Select a border color from the Color list.

To apply a 3D effect to the object, select Shadow.

The Rounded option is available for text objects and rectangular shape objects. Select Rounded to apply round corners to the object.
