Using variables
You can structure a list by using variables. For example, you have a combo box in a report, containing a list of elements at different levels of a hierarchy. If you use the level selected in the combo box as the output variable you can then use it to control what level of the list is displayed in another report. To use a variable in this way, right-click a variable in Structure Selection and select

You can also use a variable as an element in structure selection. For example, if a variable contains a date, you could use that variable to structure the list. Locate the variable in the Global Variables or Report Variables folder and right-click. Select
