Copying product groups

Use this page to copy an existing product group created by other users. You can create a product group with the parts available in the selected product group.

To copy a product group:

  1. Select Preferences > Define Product Groups. The Product Groups page is displayed.
  2. Click Copy. The Copy Group page is displayed.
  3. Specify this information:
    User
    The name of the user. The product groups of this user are displayed in the Group field.
    Group
    The name of the product group to be copied.
    Group Name
    The name to the product group to be created.
    Description
    The description of the product group to be created.
  4. Select the parts from the Available Parts list to add the parts to the Product Group list. The Available Parts list includes the parts that are not linked to the product groups of the user creating the product group.
    Note: For a user, a part can belong to only one product group.
  5. Click Save.
    Note: If a part is linked to the existing product group, the Part Discrepancies page is displayed.
