About SunSystems administration
This Help provides details of all set up and maintenance tasks for SunSystems 6.3. The tasks detailed are those normally expected of an application consultant or a systems administrator.
Tasks within this Help are broken down into separate areas:
- Security and system administration tasks that are appropriate to all installations of SunSystems and would usually be carried out by the organization's technical staff, who have the appropriate access rights.
- Business Unit administration tasks that are appropriate to all SunSystems modules such as setting up common reference data.
- Financials tasks that are only appropriate if you have installed the Financials modules of SunSystems.
- Order Fulfilment tasks that are only appropriate if you have installed the Order Fulfilment modules of SunSystems.
- Integration Configuration tasks which allow you to integrate with other Infor products, such as Infor10 CPM and ION Workflow.
- Customization tasks that are appropriate to all installations and would usually be carried out by System Administrators who have the appropriate access rights.
- Configuration Manager web-based tasks to maintain system configurations are used by SunSystems components and would usually be carried out by System Administrators or SaaS Administrators who have the appropriate access rights.
When using SunSystems there are many ways to carry out a given task. SunSystems documentation does not necessarily outline every route for each task. Therefore, if you are an experienced SunSystems user you may find more convenient or appropriate approaches, depending on the circumstances of the task and your own personal preferences.
SunSystems is extremely customizable. SunSystems documentation is therefore written assuming all default selections were accepted during installation and no subsequent modifications have been made.
Within SunSystems there are many levels of access rights. SunSystems documentation assumes you have all necessary rights for the task being performed.
