What is a Bill of Materials?

A bill of materials, or BOM, is a comprehensive list of the components required to produce an item. That is, when items are created by combining other items, either in manufacturing, assembly or selling a set of items as a kit.

What is Bill of Materials Manager?

Bill of Materials Manager (BOM) is a SunSystems module which allows you to create a bill of materials which can be used for costing and to facilitate the recording of manufacturing, assembly and sales.

The application also contains a wizard which can be used to create a bill of materials. This is accessed from the initial dialog that is displayed when the application is accessed, or from the Help menu.

Uwaga: This Help refers to the bill of materials records and not to item records which are maintained in the item master in SunSystems. For example, you cannot edit an item using Bill of Materials Manager - this must be carried out in the Item Master itself.
