Setting up custom extension fields

You can create your own custom extension fields should the current standard extension fields not suit your requirements.

To create a custom extension field, enter or query the analysis dimension for which you want to maintain custom extension fields in Analysis Dimensions (AND). From the Action menu select Extension Fields to open the Extension Fields form and select Create. A maximum of 100 codes can be created per additional code list.
Uwaga: Codes cannot be deleted if being used by an extension field.
Uwaga:  Updating and deleting custom extension fields may impact on existing analysis codes and the functions which are using them.
  1. Specify this information:
    Field Type
    Specifies whether the extension field is a custom extension field and predefined for linked analysis table, or a standard extension field.
    Assigned Field
    To assign an extension field slot to an extension field to define the extension field data type.
    Uwaga:  Depending on which assigned field is selected depends on which fields are available on the Extension Field Setup form.
    Select Standard Field
    This option is only available for standard extension fields.
    Name
    The name of the custom extension field.
    Auto-Complete
    Specifies whether the default value is to be automatically completed for a new analysis code.
    Mandatory
    Specifies whether the extension field must have a value on analysis code.
    Description
    The description of the custom extension field.
    Decimal Places
    The number of decimal places to be displayed.
    Default Numeric
    The default numeric value to be used.
    Reference Code List
    To nominate an Additional Code List to be referenced.
    Default Fixed
    To enter a default fixed value for a fixed list.
    Default Date
    To enter a default value date.
    Default Alpha
    To enter default text to be displayed. This field is for alphabetical characters only.
    Reference Data Type
    The reference data type to be used, either Static Data or Dimension, if applicable.
    Static Data
    The codes of the nominated static data to be selected or entered as the extension field values on analysis codes.
    Dimension
    The codes from the nomination analysis dimension to be available when defining the extension field values on analysis codes.
  2. Save your changes.

    Once the custom extension field is created all the existing analysis codes are updated to populate the mandatory extension field values.
