Finding a Location to Find an Account Recognition Code
There are two types of ledger interface: Inventory and Transactional.
Inventory Type
If an inventory type of ledger interface uses a location type of account code recognition, SunSystems looks at the receipt or issue for the location. Once the location is found, SunSystems looks at the location setup to find the relevant account recognition code, and hence the account code to be used for the ledger posting.
Transaction Type
If a transactional type of ledger interface uses a location type of account recognition code, SunSystems looks at the relevant transaction to find the location. SunSystems looks at the exact stage that the ledger interface is associated with. The following shows where the relevant location is found:
Module | Stage | Location Used |
Purchasing | Order Entry | Location on order line |
Order Confirmation | Location on order line
Receipt Note Entry/Matching | Location on receipt note line or batch line
Invoice Entry | Location on invoice line
Invoice Matching | Location on order if it exists, otherwise the location on the invoice
Invoice Confirmation | Location on invoice line
Sales | All stages | Not applicable |
Inventory | Order Entry Receipt | To Location on order line |
Order Entry Issue | From Location on order line
Order Entry both Receipt and Issue, or neither | To Location if it exists, otherwise the From Location
Order Confirmation | Location on order line
Receipt Note Entry/Matching | Location on receipt note line or batch line
Picking | Not applicable
Picking Confirmation | Not applicable
Despatch | Not applicable
Despatch Confirmation | Not applicable |
Regardless of the ledger interface, if a location is not entered on a transaction, or the issue or receipt are not actualised, SunSystems fails this level of checking and searches the next level. The next level is specified as the substitute account recognition code entered on the Ledger Interface Account Recognition Code Setup.
