Editing simple conditions
Uwaga: If an operator of In List and runtime entry are selected your runtime
entry form will contain a multiselection list box. Using Filter Designer is the only
way to add multiselection list boxes to forms. It is not possible to add
multiselection list boxes, or change other control types to multiselection list
boxes, using Form Designer.
- Create a new or open an existing filter.
- Within the top portion of the filter edit area, double click the required simple condition. The Edit Condition dialog is displayed.

Enter or select the required operator and values.
- If the data item being used for the condition has a finite set of possible values, these are displayed for you to select from.
- The selection list of operators only displays those appropriate for the data item selected.
- An operator of Range allows you to specify a From and To value.

In List allows you to specify
a list of values. If the data item selected has a finite set of possible
values, these are displayed and selections made by highlighting those
required. If the data item selected does not have a finite set of
possible values, the required values must be separated by commas.
Uwaga: Within the control desk inquiry alpha-numeric values in this field must not have a leading space at the beginning of each selection. For example, AAAA, BBBB, CCCC with no spaces in between values.
- An operator of Equals or Not Equals allows you to select blanks. This signifies that you want to search for the absence of data, such as nulls, single spaces, or a series of spaces, for the chosen data item.
- Alphanumeric values used with an operator of like, includes and use wildcard can contain wildcards.
- The operator starts with can also be used with alphanumeric values.
- Date values can be defined in three ways:
- Run date, which is the SunSystems login date at the time the filter is used.
- Run date plus, or minus, a predefined number of days, months or years.
- Fixed date.

If you require the value to be entered when the filter is run,
check the Runtime
entry check box. If an operator of Range or In List and
runtime entry are selected you may select All. This signifies that you want to search
for all possible values of the data item. At runtime, All can be deselected and From and To values entered for ranges, or selections made
from the multiselection list box for lists.

- If you are working in full mode, you may specify that the condition is a system condition by checking the System check box. System conditions cannot be amended or deleted by any user working in Normal Mode.
- Click OK. You may now want to add compound conditions or sort criteria to your filter.
