Running ledger exports that use range control
You can control the export of journal data for audit purposes to ensure that data is not duplicated or missed when being transferred.
Using Export Profile Designer you can set one or more ledger export profiles to apply range control when run. Range control acts as a filter on a journal number when extracting data for a business unit. Using range control prevents records being duplicated or missed when extracting data.
When a profile is run, the range of journal numbers to be extracted is requested. The Journal number from value is specified using Transfer Profile Designer, or it defaults to 1. The Journal number to value can be overridden, but defaults to the latest (highest) posted journal number. The range of journal numbers extracted is recorded for each run. The last range entered can be repeated by specific selection, but no other repetition is possible. On the subsequent run, the Journal number from value starts at the previous highest number (Journal number to value) plus 1.
If no journals exist for the selected business unit / ledger combination, an error message is displayed and the export does not run.
