Saving forms

After you have finished amending your form you need to save it.

Forms are saved to the client file directory by default. However, forms can also be saved to a user specific client file directory - see Tools > Options for further details.

Note:  You will find that for some forms the Save As feature is disabled. This is because Form Designer restricts amendments to certain types of SunSystems forms.

To save forms:

  1. From the File menu, select Save or click the Save button on the Standard toolbar. You are now ready to locally compile or check in the form.
  2. If you want to save forms with a different name, from the File menu, select Save As. The Save As dialog is displayed:
    Form Type
Select a form type. You can create User, System or SASI forms if running Form Designer in full mode.
    Form Code
Enter a form code to identify your form. This must be an upper case alphanumeric code up to eight characters long. The form code appears on the form window title bar.
    Description
Enter an alphanumeric description up to 100 characters long. The description of the original form is entered for you.
  3. Click OK. Use Save As if you want to rename a form that is read-only.
