Sample Expenses by Profit Centre Report Rows
A sample Expenses by Profit Centre report format has been defined using Financial Table Formats (FTF) and is identified by table code EXP.
The Row Content Code field identifies the rows that appear on this report. These rows are defined using Financial Table Rows (FTR) and are also identified by row content code EXP.
The Column Content Code field identifies the columns that appear on the report. These columns are defined using Financial Table Columns (FTC) and are again identified by code EXP.
The Levels in Financial Tables work in a similar way to the level codes in Financial Statements.
Using Financial Table Rows (FTR) view row number 100. The row number bears no relation to a particular line on the report, it simply sequences the rows for a report. So, for example, row 100 is printed before row 200 and after row 50.
This row type has been set to Heading which prints whatever is in the Row Name field. The next row is another Heading row. However, the Row Name field is blank to produce a blank line in the report.
There is another type of heading row, the Page row type, which print headings at the top of a new page.
The Underscore option can be used with both Heading and Page row types. Select Double or Single if you want a line printed across the report columns.
Another row type is Continuation. Just like Continuation rows in Financial Statements, continuation rows do not appear separately in the report, but add into the preceding Row type.
An example Row type appears on row number 200. This type of row reports transactions. The Row Basis defines the selection of data, since this is Account Code accounts will be reported in the rows of this report. The Row Basis Range has been set from 30000 to 36999, this is the range of account that will be reported on this row.
The Break Out Details option is similar to the Account Details option in Financial Statements. In this example, this option is set which means that each account in the specified range will be printed on a separate line. The row name will be the account name.
The Normal Sign option in this example dictates that debits are treated as positive. The Report Code option has also been set. Therefore, the account code will be printed on the report, assuming a column is defined in Financial Tables Columns.
As with other financial reporting functions, the selection code enable you to specify the analysis dimensions and codes used as the selection criteria. In this case they represent the selection criteria for this row.
Calculating the Printing Totals
The totalling in Financial Table reports works in exactly the same as in Financial Statements. There are seven levels of total, T1 to T7, which add into each other.
Row number 300 in the EXP report is a T3 total. It will add up everything on the report up to the last T3 total. The totals are printed with a line of overscores, and T1 totals with a line of overscores and underscores. You can enter None in the Underscore field to suppress these.
