Defining transformations

To set up the transformation:

  1. If you are setting up a new transformation see Creating transformations. If you want to amend an existing transformation see Opening transformations.
  2. Once displayed, you can filter the information to aid the setting up or amendment of the transformation.
    Description
    The transformation description entered in the New Transformation dialog.
    TML Details
    all
    The default selection that allows you to view all operation types.
    specify
    Select to display the source/target operation check boxes. Check the appropriate check boxes for the data you want to view. The options are:
    • map
    • assign to
    • function
    • lookup
    • undefined.
    Hide Direct Mappings
    Check this check box to hide data elements that are directly mapped.
    Full Structure
    Check this check box to display the full hierarchical structure of the source/target data.

    The source and target data elements are listed in the TML Details grid along with the associated transformation operations. Any values displayed in red are invalid and must be corrected.

    Hover the mouse over the data element name to display its full hierarchy path.

  3. Click Save a Transformation to save your transformation to the database.
  4. Validate and test the transformation.

    Note: Any source or target data displayed with a grey background is read-only data.
