Entering Journal Notes
Journal Notes allow you to add free format text to journal lines, to record any information considered pertinent but unable to be recorded elsewhere in the system. They can be added, amended, and deleted via the Journal Notes form which is accessed from the menu in:

Up to 99 notes can be added to each journal line.
Journal Notes can be included on reports and statements.
Journal Notes
- Journal Line Number
- The journal line number to which the note is associated.
- Line Number
- The line number of the note.
- Created By
- The operator Id of the person who created the note.
- Updated By
- The operator Id of the person who last updated the note.
- Internal Only
- Used to signify if the note is for internal use only. This value can be used in the design of reports to determine if note text should appear.
- Exclusive
- Indicates if the note text is exclusive to an individual journal line, or if it applies to all lines.
Note: If a number of journal lines
are selected in Account Inquiry, and the notes function is
accessed, any notes added are automatically added against all the lines selected. If one
of these journal lines is then accessed, through whatever means, and a note is amended
or deleted, the change is reflected for all the journal lines, that is, there is only
one journal note.
- Creation Date
- The date when the original note was created.
- Updated Date
- The date when the note was last updated.
- Note Text
- Free format note text.
