Setting Infor M3 BE for M3 SWB

This manual provides a general overview of the factors that must be considered when setting up the Infor M3 BE system along with Infor M3 SWB at a customer site. Each task is multi-faceted and all tasks actively depend on one another for a successful overall implementation strategy.

There are two different ways to set up Infor M3 SWB:

  • Configuring Infor M3 BE for Infor M3 SWB. As a Infor M3 BE component group, Infor M3 SWB is fully integrated with the Infor M3 BE ERP system. It benefits from the integrated Infor M3 BE Interface (MI) that includes a built-in Advanced Program Interface (API). It can be configured at the customer site as a permanent option for conducting advanced planning and scheduling.
  • Configuring Infor M3 SWB for another ERP system.

    Infor M3 SWB can be configured as an add-on application for conducting advanced planning and scheduling. This solution builds upon an ODBC interface (DB) or a file-based interface (FI).

The component group can also be set up as a stand-alone system. When this is the case, Infor M3 SWB can only be used for straight-forward production planning, without the benefits gained through cooperation with an ERP system.
