Collect Logs

The Collect Logs tab on the Logs page provides a platform that enables you to collect log files and other relevant information such as registry and database maintenance information.

The Collect Logs tab enables you to collect log files and other relevant information such as registry, database maintenance, and additional Certification Manager information as follows:

  1. On the Scope panel, select one of the following options:
  2. All logs: Select this option to collect all log files.
  3. Date Range: Select the period for which logs are to be collected. In the From and To fields, manually enter the dates or click the Calendar icon to select the required dates. Logs created within the specified period are collected.
  4. Number of days (including today) for which logs will be collected: Select this option to collect files older than the number of days specified. For example, if you enter 7 days in the text box, logs older than 7 days are collected.
  5. The Additional Information panel enables you to collect files containing other information such as information about Certification Manager installation. Depending on what information you want to collect, select the required check box from the following:
    1. Registry Information : This is information pertaining to installation of Certification Manager; such as the version number, the install path and the install date.
    2. Database Maintenance Information : This information is gathered from the SQL server. For example, database maintenance plans, jobs or schedules, disk space allocation and database paths.
    3. Additional Certification Manager Information : This is additional Certification Manager information such as number of reviews, number of processes, number of data sources and number of users.
  6. Click Collect. The logs are collected in a .zip file that is displayed as a link below the Collect Logs tab. It also displays details such as the start time, end time and the time required to collect logs. Click the.zip file name link to save it to a location of your choice.

The log files are zipped and saved to [Install Path]CertificationManager\Presentation\Logs\CollectLogs
