Tracking Serialized Materials

You can track in either direction:

• Backward, to determine which serialized items make up a final serialized item.
• Forward, to determine which item a serialized item ultimately ends up in.

Use either of these methods:

• Using the Serial Numbers Form to Track Serialized Materials
• Using the Item Serial Numbers Report to Track Serialized Materials

Notes:

• In order to track serial numbers for an item in a job beyond the first level, the Preassign Serials option must be set for the item.
• If a serial number has a source or destination that is a transfer order, then visibility of the serial number in this site ends at the transfer order. To further track the serial number, go to the transfer site and continue tracking there. See About Multi-Site Transfer Order Serial Number Tracking.
