Configuring Drilling in a Classic Designer Geo Map

You can configure a geo map to drill to another dashboard page with the next lower level geo map, for example from a world map to a country map.

The dashboard with the lower level geo map must contain the higher level region column (for example, country) as a dashboard prompt.

To configure drilling in a geo map

1. On the report for the higher level geo map, specify the drill type of the region column as Drill to Dashboard in the Column Properties dialog box and select the dashboard page that contains the lower level geo map in the Navigate to Dashboard list. See Adding Drilling Capability to a Column.
2. On the report for the geo map in the target dashboard, edit chart properties (by selecting Options, Chart Properties) and do the following:

In the Chart Series and Categories tab of the Layer Properties dialog box, select the higher level region column from the Map list.

In the Other tab of the Layer Properties dialog box, select the map you want to use in the Map list, and if prompted, select From Data Field in the second list that displays.

3. On the dashboard for the lower level geo map, add a prompt for the higher level region column. See Setting up Dashboard Filter Prompts.
