Creating a service configuration source

To create a service configuration source:

  1. Right-click the Sources node and select the Add command in the context menu.
  2. The Add Configuration Wizard opens where you select the configuration source type Service.
  3. Click Next and specify this information:
    Name
Specify the name of the service configuration source.
    Description
Specify a description of the service configuration source.
    Repository Registration Service URL
Specify the URL of the Repository Registration Service.
Note: The default port number for the Repository Registration Service is 8266. If this port number is in use by other applications on the machine, the next higher free port number will be used. In such a case, to find out the correct port number that must be used, see the Infor.BI.Repository.RegistrationService.config file in the installation folder of Repository. The file contains a <Port> element in the XML structure that defines the actual port number to be used.
  4. Click Next and specify this information:
    Register to administer the service
Select this check box, to activate administrative access to the Repository Registration Service. The administrator can then perform all the required tasks to configure the Repository Registration Service from such a system. The standard scenario is that the registration of the service is created on all systems in read-only mode while the administrative registration is created on an administrator computer from where the administrator can manage the service.
    User name
Specify the user name for the administrator.
    Password
Specify the password for the administrator.
Note: The default administrator credentials to log on to the Repository Registration Service for the first time are the user name Administrator and an empty password.
  5. To create the service configuration source, click Finish. The registered service configuration source is displayed under the Sources node.
