Database aliases

Users who work with the report catalogs of Infor BI Application Studio or Infor BI Office Plus, use database aliases to connect to databases. The aliases are created in Infor BI Application Studio and Infor BI Office Plus. You edit the connection settings of the aliases in the Database Aliases view. You can save different settings for individual users or roles.

To open the Database Aliases view, click Database Aliases under the report catalog in the tree.

The Database Aliases view is divided into the sections _Default, Basic Users, and Roles. The sections contain the same setting possibilities. However, the settings have different scopes. In the _Default section, you administer the default settings. In the Basic Users and Roles sections you can save user-specific and role-specific settings. Click _Default or the name of a user or role under Basic Users or Roles, to show the settings.

To specify, whether individual settings are saved for a role or a user, select the check box in the Inherit column. Users inherit the settings of the role, which you select in the Settings of the Report Catalog or Report Catalog Permission Management views.

This role is shown in the Inherit from role field. For roles, you specify in the Inherit column, whether they inherit the setting you specify in the _Default section. Clear the Inherit check box, to save an individual setting for a user or a role.

You can configure these settings:
