Properties

Attachment metadata stored on project level in a repository represent a link between the attachment reference in an OLAP cell and the storage system of the attachment. OLAP cells refer to attachments through their unique names maintained in a repository. Projects include a defined storage alias that points to the storage system where the attachment can be found.

To view the metadata of an attachment, select the attachment in the work space and click Properties on the toolbar. The Properties dialog opens that shows the available metadata of the attachment:

  • Unique Name: Shows the unique name of the attachment. The unique name is an unique identifier of the attachment within the project that cannot be changed. The unique name is used by other applications such as OLAP to refer to the attachment.
  • Alias: Shows the storage alias under which the given attachment is stored in the current repository. Through the storage alias, Repository provides unified access to the storage system by applications such as OLAP Server, Office Plus, or Application Studio. Currently, the only available storage alias is "Repository". If a storage alias cannot be accessed, the properties that must be read from the storage system cannot be shown.
  • Relative Path: Shows the internal address to the physical file of the attachment in the repository.
  • File Name: Shows the file name of the attachment and the file extension.
  • Size: Shows the file size of the attachment in bytes.
  • Created on: Date and time on which the attachment was created in the repository (storage system).
  • Created by: Name of user who created the attachment in the repository (storage system).
  • Last Modified on: Last date and time on which the attachment was modified in the repository (storage system).
  • Last Modified by: Name of last user who modified the attachment in the repository (storage system).
  • References: Shows the reference value of an OLAP cell that is linked to the attachment. These reference values are maintained by the client application and are optional.
  • Additional Information: Shows additional attachment metadata stored together with the attachment. The value is maintained by the client application and is optional.
