Importing CBR reports

Cell-based Reports (CBR reports) created in CPM Applications can be imported and used in Office Plus. CBR reports are converted to Office Plus during import.

Note: Conversion to CBR reports is supported only on CPM Relational Provider database aliases with the XMLA driver.

In CBR reports, the connection to the datasource is held in datasets within the reports. In Office Plus reports, the data connection information is provided by a database alias in the central Repository. Therefore, for CBR reports to be used in Office Plus, database aliases must be available which access the same data that the CBR reports access through their datasets. Creating these database aliases is a task for an administrator.

To import a CBR report:

  1. Right-click the folder in the Report Catalog in which to import the report and select Import.
The Import Report dialog is displayed.
  2. Select CBR reports as the type of file to import.
Note: You must do this, even though the option All known files is selected and the CBR reports in the source folder are visible.
  3. Select the CBR report to import and click Open.
The report and the Pick cube for [ dataset_name] dataset dialog are displayed.
Note: If you receive an error about VSTO, click OK. The error message is VSTO is not installed. You can ignore resultant warnings during CBR report import.. We recommend that you enable trust access to the VBA project model in Microsoft Excel to prevent this error.
  4. Select the cube which contains the data required by the dataset and click OK.
The Pick cube for [ dataset_name] dataset is displayed for each dataset in the CBR report. When all the datasets have been linked to a cube, the report closes.
  5. Open the report from the Report Catalog.
