Creating and renaming a report

To create a report:

  1. Ensure that the Show/Hide Left-docked panes and Design Mode buttons in the Standard toolbar are selected.
    The Left button displays the Repository Explorer at the left of the screen. Design Mode displays the currently selected report in Design Mode.

    The Repository Explorer has these components:

    • Report Catalog
    • Database Structure
    • Accessories pane
  2. Click Report Catalog.
  3. Right-click the Reports folder in the Report Catalog and select New > Folder.
  4. Specify Tutorials as the folder name.
    To rename the folder, right-click it and select Rename.
    Note: An alternative way to rename is to highlight the folder or report, press the F2 key and specify the new name.
  5. Right-click the Tutorials folder and select New > Report.
  6. Specify Tutorial1 as the Name, select <None> from the Style sheet list and click OK.
  7. Double-click the new report in the Report Catalog.
    The report is displayed as a blank grid.
