Chart click restrictions

In these chart types, there are restrictions on the cells on which you can define a chart click action:

Map charts

The cell on which you define a chart click action depends on the type of chart. Also, for pin location charts, it depends on whether latitude and longitude coordinates, or addresses, are used to define locations.

For location pin charts:

  • If coordinates are used, define the action on the column which holds the latitudes
  • If addresses are used, define the action on the cell which holds the addresses.
Note: If the chart data is in columns and rows, instead of a hyperblock, define the action only on the first cell of the address column.

For the other types of chart, define the action on the column which holds the values.

Where you click to execute a chart click action depends on the type of chart and whether information windows are enabled.

For portfolio charts:

  • If information windows are not enabled, click a bubble on the map
  • If information windows are enabled, click a bubble in the information window.

For other chart types, and location pin charts:

  • If information windows are not enabled, click the mini chart or location pin
  • If information windows are enabled, click a chart value, or location label, in the information window.
Note: Location pins have no values. So, from a pin chart, you cannot trigger an action on values.

Portfolio charts

Define chart click actions on the cells which represent the radiuses of the chart bubbles.

Area charts

Each area represents a data series. If the chart data is in columns and rows, instead of a hyperblock, define chart click actions only on the first cell of each data series. Click anywhere in the area to execute the action.
