Introduction

Infor App Builder enables you to reuse existing business logic across Infor products and build composite applications from it.

This provides custom built and highly specialized apps to boost your productivity.

App Builder consists of two major parts, the app builder, also known as the designer, and the App Hub.

App Builder

App Builder is an Infor Xi product, meaning it is part of the Infor Technology suite. It runs within Infor Ming.le™. You can run App Builder in the cloud as part of the multi-tenant offering.

The App Builder is where you build your apps using an intuitive WYSIWYG user interface. It offers Drag n Drop of UI components, a dataservice layer to connect with APIs, and an interaction wizard to setup how the components of the app interact with each other.

App Builder offers a built-in responsive design pattern that enables you to easily design your apps to work at their best, regardless of the device.

Apps can be built, exported/published from and into different environments which means you can develop and test in your test environment, then later deploy in your production environment. It also means that you can receive apps from external parties such as Infor or another 3rd party.

Apps built by App Builder are client side applications using ION API backend services. Many Infor products are already ION API certified and can thus be used when building apps with App Builder. There is also a possibility to manually attach your own APIs behind the ION API gateway and that way you can use any REST based API as part of your Infor apps.

All apps built with App Builder use the latest look and feel from Infor's Hook & Loop design agency.

App Hub

App Hub is the place where all your published and activated apps will be found. This is the main user interface for the end user. It offers a list of all apps the user has access to and the ability to run them. With admin authorization you can administrate your company's apps within the App Hub, such as controlling which apps are available in what versions and who can access them.
