Allocation Markers - Introduction
The Allocation Marker Update DJI (Direct Java Interface) component is available from SunSystems version 5.1.4 SP2.
Within specific controls, the component allows you to maintain Account Allocation Markers on existing Ledger or Budget transactions, via SunSystems Connect.
You can identify a set of existing ledger or budget transactions and change the value of the allocation marker on those transactions. You may only amend non-balancing markers, as the amendment of balancing allocation markers could cause ledger imbalances.
This component has been designed to support business requirements where transactions are generated and updated in an application external to SunSystems and are then transferreed to the SunSystems ledger or budget, in two or more stages.
This is best illustrated with an example:
A purchase invoice is created in an external application and transferred to SunSystems as a ledger transaction, creating suspense cost nominal entries. At this stage it is unauthorized for payment. The purchase invoice is matched to goods received and approved in the external application. A further transfer to SunSystems is then carried out, reversing the suspense entries and creating full cost nominal entries and marking the original creditor transaction as authorised for payment. The component has to find the existing transactions that are to be marked and then update them with the correct value.
