Printing Reports to a Networked Printer

To print to networked printers that have been configured and made accessible to users by the report administrator, set the outputPrinter report parameter which has a lookup list of server printers that you can choose from.

  1. From the Edit menu, select Report Parameters. This opens the Report Parameters dialog.
  2. From the list of parameters, select the parameter outputPrinter and click Edit. This opens the Report Parameters dialog where you can specify the printer to use as the default for outputting the current report.
  3. On the General tab, to select a printer as the default printer for the current report, or change the printer already selected as the default:

    Click the browse button to open the Value dialog. If the Values field is not blank, it contains the name of the default printer that is already set up for the current report. If the Values field is blank, no printer has been selected for the report. Type the name, or click the magnifier to open the Lookup Form. This lists all the printers that the report administrator has set up for SunSystems Reporting Services users.
    Note: You can only access printers for which the report administrator has given you access rights.
  4. From the list of printers in the Lookup Form, select the printer you want people to use for your report. Click OK to close the Lookup Form and return to the Value dialog with the selected printer displayed in the Value field.
  5. Click OK to close the Value dialog then click OK again to close the dialog containing the General and Advanced tab.
  6. Click OK to close the Report Parameters dialog.
