Key State

M3 Demand Planner has a special value called Key State assigned to a Dataset record. Key State allows the administrators to control and define Key States that are available in the system. Key State is also used to control the life cycle of a Dataset record. You can assign an identifier to allow you to handle a record in a specific way.

Follow these steps to define Key States.

  1. Select Menu > List > Key State.

The Key State properties dialog box is displayed.

  2. On General, specify this information:
    Key Id
Specify the Key State ID. You can define 100 up to 999999 key states.
    Name
Specify the name of the key state.
    Description
Optionally, specify a description for the key state.
    State shift
Select the applicable option from the drop-down list. State shift is triggered before import. For example, 1-New records become 0-Normal during import. Any new imported records will become 1-new. You can also configure other State shifts for custom key states.

This table displays the available key states that you can use.
