Defining Key State
M3 Demand Planner has a special value named Key State that is assigned to a dataset record. Administrators use Key State to control and define the Key States that are available in the system. Key State is used to control the life cycle of a dataset record. You can assign an identifier to handle a record in a specific way.
- From the menu, select .
The Key State properties dialog box is displayed.
- On General, specify this information:
- Key Id
- Specify the Key State ID. You can define 100 up to 999999 key states.
- Name
- Specify the name of the key state.
- Description
- Optionally, specify a description for the key state.
- State shift
- Select an applicable option from the list.
- On Locked periods inside CTH, specify this information:
- Start period
- Specify the period start date
- Number of periods
- Specify the number of periods.
- Cannot be updated
- Optionally, select this option.
- Colorize periods
- Optionally, select this option.
Key states can lock cells within the Changeable Time Horizon (CTH) that are usually open for editing. The Changeable Time Horizon (CTH) controls which time periods you can change. To enable several types of items or markets to have additional parts of the CTH locked, Key State controls an offset relative to the CTH. Key State properties, such as Start Locked Periods and Length Locked Periods define the start and number of periods that are locked inside the CTH.
- On Locked with Time mark, specify this information:
- Before
- Select the timemark from the list.
- After
- Select the timemark from the list.
- On Color, click
to select a color.Note: Key State can colorize the row if is enabled in .
