Moving Items or Materials Between Sites

  1. On the Multi-Site Quantity Move form, specify this information in the header section:
    From Site
Select the site from which you are moving items or materials. The default value is the current site.
    From Warehouse
Select the warehouse from which you are moving inventory. Generally, the default for this field is the default warehouse associated with the site designated in the From Site field. If that site is the site where you are located when initiating the move, the default warehouse is the warehouse recognized by the system as the current warehouse.
    Item
Select the item code for the items or materials that you are moving.
    (Item Description)
A description of the item is displayed.
    To Site
Select the site to which you are transferring or move items or materials. The default value for this field is the current site.
    To Warehouse
Note: Because a multi-site quantity move can be either a Push or Pull transaction, the defaults for the fields are relative to the site initiating the transaction.
  2. Specify this information on the Detail tab:
    On Hand
The total nettable quantity (the available quantity that may be transferred or moved) of the item at the From Site is displayed. The unit of measure for the item is displayed.
    (From) Location
Select the location from which you want to transfer the items. The default value is the first ranked item location.
    Remote From Site Lot Processing
    • Existing Lot: The Lot field allows users only to select from existing lots.
    • Create Lot: The Lot field requires users to enter a new lot number that does not exist in the system.
    • Both: The Lot field allows users to select an existing lot or enter a new lot number.
    Quantity
Specify the quantity of the item or material that you are moving. The unit of measure is displayed.
    (From) Lot
If the item is lot-tracked, specify the lot number from which you want to transfer the items or materials.
    Transaction Date
The current date is displayed by default. Optionally, select a different date to record the transaction.
    (To) Location
Select the location where you want to transfer the items. The default value is the first ranked item lot/location.
    (To) Lot
If the item is lot-tracked, specify the lot number to which you want to transfer the items or materials.
    Remote To Site Lot Processing

    • Create Lot: The Lot field requires users to enter a new lot number that does not exist in the system.
    • Both: The Lot field allows users to select an existing lot or enter a new lot number.
  3. If the item is lot-tracked, specify this information on the Serial Numbers tab:
    Select
Select this check box for the individual records that you want to process.
    S/N
If new numbers are required, specify the new serial numbers, or generate them automatically by clicking Generate.
    Target Quantity
The value of the quantity specified on the Detail tab is displayed. This value is the quantity of serial numbers that must be generated or selected for the item.
    Selected Quantity
The amount of serial numbers currently selected in the Serials grid is displayed.
    Generate Quantity
The target quantity amount is displayed by default. It indicates the number of serial numbers you want the system to generate for this item during this transaction. When you generate new serial numbers, the number to be generated should be less than or equal to the target quantity. When you are performing a query on existing serial numbers, you can change the value to any desired quantity. After a generation or selection has been performed, this field's value is reset to 0.
    Range Qty
Use this field to specify the quantity of serial numbers to select (for existing serials only) or clear in the grid. For existing serial numbers, this value defaults to the target quantity value. When new serial numbers are required, this value defaults to zero, and is reset to zero whenever there is a change to the selected serial numbers.
    Select Range Button
This button is disabled when any of these conditions exist:
    • New serial numbers are required.
    • No serial numbers exist in the grid
    • Range quantity is zero
    Deselect Range Button
Beginning with the currently selected serial number record and continuing up to the number of records specified in the range quantity, clicking this button either:
    • Clears each selected record (for existing serial numbers), or
    • Deletes each selected record (when generating new serial numbers).
This button is disabled when any of these conditions exist:
    • No serial numbers exist in the grid
    • Range quantity is zero

Click this button to generate the specified quantity of new serial numbers. This button is disabled when either of these conditions exist:
    • The quantity on the Detail tab is zero
    • The Expand S/N field is not selected on the Inventory Parameters form, and new serial numbers must be generated
  4. Click Move to move the selected item.
