Archive Connections

Large volumes of What-ifs, Requests and Process Insight analyses that occupy space in the Infor Risk & Compliance database need to be cleared from time to time to free up the database. This is possible by archiving old data from the Infor Risk & Compliance database to the database of your choice.

To archive this data, you must:

  1. Create a new archive connection or archive to an existing archive connection.
  2. Schedule an archive.

The Archive Connections page enables you to create new archive connections, delete existing archive connections, and generate reports. It also lists details of the existing archive connections such as the SQL server name, and target database name for which the archive connection has been created. All archive connections created in the application as well as in its older versions are displayed on this page.

The archive database may be on the same server as Infor Risk & Compliance or on a different server.

In general, once an archive schedule runs, the objects in the archive database can be considered static. This means that if an action is performed on an item that has been archived but not deleted from the Infor Risk & Compliance database, changes to that item are not reflected in the archive database.

To re-archive a request or a Process Insight analysis, the archive connection must be deleted and re-created.

  • Archived Requests/What-if analyses : When a request or a What-if analysis is archived and not deleted from the Infor Risk & Compliance system, it is copied to the archive database. By design, if the same request or What-if analysis is included in a second archive schedule, it will be skipped. If request or What-if violations are mitigated after the initial archive, but prior to the second archive, they will not be reflected in archive database. This is because the request has already been archived and can be considered in an archived state. This is true even if the object still exists in the Infor Risk & Compliance system because it was not deleted.

To re-archive a request/ What-if analysis after it has been updated, the archive connection must be deleted and re-created. This will clear all of the archived requests/What-if analyses from the archive database.

  • Archived Process Insight Analyses : When a Process insight analysis is archived from the Infor Risk & Compliance system, it is copied to the archive database. By design, if an analysis has already been archived, it will be skipped when subsequent archive schedules run. This is because the archived analysis can is considered static once archived. If exceptions are closed in a given analysis, and that analysis has already been archived, the closed exception status is not reflected in the archive database. This is because the analysis has already been archived and is skipped when the archive schedule runs again.

To re-archive a Process Insight analysis after it has been updated, the archive connection must be deleted and re-created. This will clear all of the archived analysis requests from the archive database.
