Issuing a corrective action

After the employee has had a discussion with the manager or generalist, perform this task to record in the system that a corrective action has been issued to the affected employee. This task can be performed on corrective actions that are in a Reviewed status. You must have the Manager, Administrator, or HR Generalist role to perform this task.
  1. Select Manager > My Staff > My Staff.
Open the employee record and click the Employee Relations tab. On the Corrective Action pane, select the row for the corrective action.

Or, select Administrator > Employee Relations > Corrective Actions or Generalist > Employee Relations > Corrective Actions. Select the row for the corrective action.

  2. Click the Issued button or select the Issued action for that row.
This action indicates that the corrective action has been formally issued to the employee. If an acknowledgment is not being used, the corrective action is placed into Issued status and is read-only. The corrective action remains in Issued status until action is taken to either inactivate or withdraw it.
Note: Your organization might have configured the application to automatically generate an email to the employee when the Issued action is selected. If so, the email is sent now.

If your organization has not enabled automatic emails, send a correspondence now to let the employee know that the corrective action was issued.

See Sending an email correspondence for a corrective action.

If an acknowledgment is being used, click OK on the Confirmation Required message to submit the corrective action to the employee for acknowledgment. The corrective action is placed into Pending Acknowledgment status.
