Form Sync, Main Page

Note: Because of help limitations with multi-page forms, this is not the page of the Form Sync form that first opens when the form is accessed. For the help topic for that page, see FormSync, Configurations.

Use this page of the Form Sync form to specify how to handle customized objects in the Target configuration.

All customized objects can be deleted or retained without modification. Form objects only can also be merged with the base version of the object from the Source configuration.

In the synchronization process, FormSync examines separately three groups of customized objects: forms, the Explorer, and global objects. You can select which group or groups to process, which objects within a group to process, and whether to process objects with or without prompts.

This page is divided into several sections, each with its own options:

  • Synchronization options: This section specifies how to handle customized objects in the Target configuration. Customized objects can be deleted, retained without modification, or merged with the base version of the object from the Source configuration.

    See Synchronization options.

In addition, this section provides these options:

  • Forms tab: This tab specifies how Form Sync is to handle forms in the Target database that have been customized.

    See Forms tab options.

  • Explorer tab: This tab specifies how Form Sync is to handle the Explorer in the Target database.

    See Explorer tab options.

  • Global Objects tab: This tab specifies how Form Sync is to handle global objects in the Target database that have been customized.

    See Global Objects tab options.
