About splitter bars
Forms with more than one pane (such as multiview forms), have a splitter bar between the panes (either vertical or horizontal).
Changing the splitter bar position in Runtime Mode
All users, regardless of their editing permissions, can move splitter bars by dragging them to the desired positions. If the process default “Allow saving form runtime changes” is not set to zero (“0”), then these changes are saved at the user level and persist for that user.
If the user has selected the “Prompt to Save Form Splitter Changes” in “User Preferences”, then the user is prompted whether to save those changes when the form is closed. If the user has not selected the “Prompt to Save Form Splitter Changes” in “User Preferences”, then the changes are saved automatically without the user being prompted.
Setting the default splitter bar position
Form developers can set the default splitter bar position for a splitter bar only in Design Mode. This is done on the “Form” property sheet, using the “Layout” property options. In addition to setting the position of the splitter bar, form developers can specify:
- Whether there is to be a splitter bar or not
- Whether the splitter bar is to be veritical or horizontal
- Whether each pane created by splitter bars displays scroll bars or not
